This month, Chris and I celebrated 25 years of marriage. A milestone like this makes me grateful—not just for the years themselves, but for the people who have been part of our life along the way.

Our Early Days in Petaluma

When we were newly married, we spent time in Petaluma while Chris was in A‑School with the Coast Guard Reserves. It was one of those seasons where you’re young, learning as you go, and taking life one steady step at a time. Looking back, I’m thankful for how those early experiences shaped us and taught us what it means to build a life side by side.

A Year of Kindness at Executive Deli & Cafe

Owning Executive Deli & Cafe this past year has brought that same sense of gratitude into sharper focus. We’ve been overwhelmed by the kindness of our customers—like the Avocado Pie and Pumpkin Lasagna gifted to us on two different days. Those small acts meant more than the givers probably realized. They reminded us that this deli isn’t just a business; it’s a community that shows up for each other.

A Quiet Celebration in Sequoia

For our anniversary, we spent a few days in Sequoia National Park. There’s something grounding about standing among trees that have weathered centuries. It reminded us that growth doesn’t happen quickly or loudly—it happens steadily, layer by layer, year after year. It felt like the perfect way to mark 25 years together.

Grateful for the Journey

As we celebrate 25 years, I’m thankful for Chris, for our family, and for all of you who have supported us through this first year of ownership. Your encouragement, your loyalty, and your thoughtfulness have made this season better than we ever expected.
